Money Forward X Introduces Matching Feature to Enhance Mikatano Series for Small Businesses

Money Forward X Enhances Mikatano Series with New Functionality

In a significant update scheduled for August 21, 2025, Money Forward X Co., Ltd. will roll out a new matching feature within its operations DX service, the Mikatano series, aimed at small- and medium-sized enterprises. This innovative addition will enable users to effortlessly reconcile invoice data and anticipated cash flows with actual transaction data on a single interface, thereby streamlining the processes of accounts receivable and payable reconciliations.

Background of the Feature Addition

Due to challenges such as rising raw material costs, the weak yen, and labor shortages, many small businesses are currently facing severe operational hurdles. Since July 2022, Money Forward X has been collaborating with local financial institutions to offer the Mikatano series, designed to support small businesses in improving their cash flow and embracing digital transformation. Previously, functionalities such as “cash flow forecast management” and “cash flow statement creation” were introduced, but numerous users had expressed the need for a more efficient reconciliation process, leading to the development of the new matching feature.

What the Matching Feature Offers

The matching feature allows for seamless integration of data registered under the invoices in Mikatano Invoice Management and anticipated cash flows in Mikatano Cash Management. Users can compare these automatically linked datasets against actual bank statements on the matching interface, enabling them to efficiently manage the status of receivables and payables. Additionally, the “anticipated cash flow” screen will visually present reconciled items in either calendar or list formats, making it easier for users to assess their cash flow outlook. This functionality helps mitigate common errors associated with manual verifications, such as oversight and duplicate entries, subsequently reducing the administrative burden of accounting tasks.

User Interface View of the Matching Feature

The system will incorporate intuitive visuals to guide users through the reconciliation process, ensuring that even those who are not tech-savvy can navigate it with ease.

User Interface View of Anticipated Cash Flow

Similar visual aids in managing anticipated cash flows enhance user experience by providing immediate clarity.

Commitment to Supporting Small Businesses

Adhering to the mission of “bringing finance closer to everyone,” the ongoing partnership with local financial institutions aims to address the diverse challenges faced by small business owners.

Overview of the Mikatano Series

The Mikatano series serves as a cloud service tailored for small and medium enterprises, provided through 38 local financial institutions across Japan. It includes features for financial management, electronic document storage (including invoices), and digitizing daily operations. The platform is designed to be intuitive, allowing individuals less familiar with IT to take their first steps towards digitization in business.
