A New Era for Startups in Taiwan

Plug and Play Japan, a leading innovation platform, has officially announced the launch of an international accelerator program in Taiwan, marking a significant step in building a comprehensive and collaborative ecosystem for startups. This initiative is targeting ambitious startups looking to expand in Taiwan, a country that plays a vital role in the global technology and manufacturing landscape.

Collaborative Opportunities in Taiwan

The accelerator program, known as the INNOPAD TAIPEI Startup Accelerator Grant Program, is open to both domestic and international startups, with a primary focus on Japanese startups aiming for cross-border expansion. Plug and Play Japan is particularly interested in startups in three rapidly growing sectors: artificial intelligence (AI), smart factories, and healthcare. Selected startups will gain access to valuable resources, including expert business matching, guidance for market entry, and connections with industry leaders through a global network.

This impactful initiative is a joint effort with Mighty Net, a hardware innovator, and INNOPAD TAIPEI, an innovation-generation hub. The collaboration taps into Plug and Play's expertise in startup support, Mighty Net's robust manufacturing capabilities, and INNOPAD TAIPEI's dynamic tech hub features. Together, they are creating a platform for cross-border innovation, leveraging each entity’s strengths.

Celebrating Launching with Kickoff Event

To commemorate the program's launch, a kickoff event was held in person at INNOPAD TAIPEI on July 24. This event served as a networking opportunity, connecting participating startups with local Taiwanese companies, venture capitalists, and stakeholders within the ecosystem. Key figures such as Lewis Chen, Managing Director of INNOPAD TAIPEI, Jan Fang-Guan, Deputy Minister of the National Development Council, and Yu Chen-hua, Deputy Secretary-General of the Taipei City Government were present, highlighting the event's importance.

Call for Startup Applications

Currently, applications for the accelerator program are being accepted, with a deadline set for December 31, 2026. Startups in the fields of AI, smart factories, and healthcare that aim to accelerate their growth in the Taiwanese market are encouraged to apply to this promising program.
