Hollyland Unveils Vcore: A New Era in Lightweight Smartphone Filmmaking

Revolutionizing Mobile Filmmaking with Hollyland Vcore

Hollyland has recently announced the launch of its innovative wireless video transmission system, Vcore. This product is poised to redefine the landscape of mobile filmmaking, particularly for those looking for lightweight and portable options. With features designed for both entry-level shooters and semi-professional creators, Vcore builds a bridge between smartphones and professional-grade monitoring devices, allowing users to elevate their storytelling capabilities on the go.

A Game-Changer for Creators

Dave Liu, the CTO of Hollyland's Research and Development Management Center, stated, "Vcore represents a transformative leap in digital storytelling." By incorporating professional monitoring, wireless transmission, and smart software into one coherent ecosystem, Vcore is simplifying workflows for creators while simultaneously granting them the freedom to capture and create from virtually anywhere.

Features that Make a Difference

The Vcore's all-in-one design is impressive, making professional-grade monitoring accessible for users of all levels. It connects via HDMI to the camera and USB-C to the smartphone, enabling creators to use the HollyView App for real-time video monitoring in stunning 4K at 30 frames per second. This high level of video clarity ensures that creators can diligently oversee their shots.

The Vcore isn't limited to smartphone compatibility; it works seamlessly with both Android and iOS platforms. Furthermore, it pairs excellently with Hollyland's Pyro series receivers, allowing multi-device monitoring options. With a robust configuration supporting one transmitter and up to four receivers, it operates over a 5 GHz frequency, delivering an impressive range of up to 350 feet (approximately 100 meters) with ultra-low latency of around 65 ms.

Workflow Optimization

Beyond monitoring, the Vcore streamlines the entire filmmaking process from production to editing. It supports recording at a dazzling 1080p and 60 fps using the H.264 codec, making it ideal for quick post-production tasks. Vcore has the functionality to automatically recognize the camera’s frame rate and timecode, which simplifies the proxy file linking process within editing programs like Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. The recorded proxy files are saved in MP4 format, complete with embedded timecode on an internal SD card, ensuring that users have reliable backup solutions at their disposal.

Moreover, the mobile device can initiate synchronous recording using the HollyView app, making social sharing and rapid editing more seamless, perfect for fast-paced shoot environments. Additionally, the Vcore also connects to the camera via USB to allow the capturing of uncompressed image files like RAW or JPEG, which can be wirelessly transmitted in real-time to mobile devices through the HollyView app or via the Capture One plugin on macOS.

Enhanced User Experience

The HollyView app also enriches the user experience by enabling real-time naming and tagging of video clips during set recordings. An innovative aspect is that mobile and transmitter footage can have the same default file name prefix that can be customized to match source camera files. As it supports recordings up to 1080p at 60 fps, users can swiftly import their clips into mobile editing apps for a well-organized workflow. The app allows users to review footage with split-screen comparisons, instantly mark favorites, and even automatically sort clips into categorized folders, helping creators minimize searching time and focus on innovation.

Expanding Creative Horizons

In addition to its basic functionalities, the Vcore also boasts a unique feature matrix, which includes capabilities such as remote camera control, live streaming, and advanced real-time chroma keying algorithms for green screen effects. These distinct features enable users to delve deeper into their creative process and broaden their content creation horizons.

With the introduction of Vcore, Hollyland aims to shift the perspective on lightweight creation, emphasizing the philosophy of “Your Phone. Your Monitor.” This approach resonates with the brand’s commitment to foster innovation and redefine productivity tools suited for the mobile age.
