New Sports-Focused Service Debuts at BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI

Exciting New Sports Initiatives at BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI

BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI recently introduced an innovative service named "ROOM 0" in collaboration with FHG HOTELS and GREENING. This unique offering aims to create a welcoming environment for guests to engage in sports and enjoy an active lifestyle while traveling. The first phase of this initiative features a partnership with New Balance, providing guests with rental running gear and shoes to encourage fitness even away from home.

The concept of "ROOM 0" represents a starting point before entering the hotel room. This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between travel and everyday activities, ensuring visitors can seamlessly integrate sports and culture into their experience from the moment they check in. The rental service of New Balance sportswear and shoes will be available for approximately six months, starting from late March 2026, with aspirations to expand beyond running to encompass various sports disciplines.

Special Experiences for the emmi Team

As part of this initiative, the hotel offered a special stay experience for the team from emmi, a women’s brand known for its activewear and wellness training apparel, ahead of their participation in the upcoming 2026 Nagoya Women’s Marathon. The hotel provided an environment tailored to help runners prepare both physically and mentally, highlighting a blend of sports, hospitality, and lifestyle innovations.

The hotel engaged guests with a variety of supportive activities, including providing New Balance apparel and shoes, healthy pre- and post-race meals, recovery stretching sessions, and an After Party aimed at fostering camaraderie among participants. This combination offered a fresh perspective on the intersection of hotel stays and athletic endeavors.

Showcasing New Balance Apparel

During their stay, the emmi team was able to enjoy a leisurely pre-race run around the hotel area, showcasing exclusive New Balance apparel designed specifically for them. The hotel proudly displayed this custom gear at the entrance, creating a buzz and encouraging other guests to take advantage of the hotel's sports-centric offerings.

Nourishing Meals by MAISON YWE

Guests also enjoyed nutritious meals crafted by MAISON YWE, the hotel’s all-day dining facility. They provided dishes emphasizing easily digestible carbohydrates and proteins to support the runners’ dietary needs on the eve of the marathon.

For instance, a special meal featuring soy milk noodles with chicken and lemon was provided the night before the race, ensuring the athletes were well-prepared for the big day ahead. The hotel also catered to guests’ energy needs on marathon morning by focusing on lighter, fiber-friendly foods.

After Party Celebrations

The culmination of the experience was an After Party hosted at MAISON YWE, featuring local DJs and fitness trainers. This event celebrated the achievement of the participating runners and facilitated networking and connection among them, embodying a community spirit and mutual encouragement.

Recovery and Stretching Sessions

Post-marathon, the hotel continued to support the well-being of its guests by offering an after-stretch session led by Chanchii, a DJ and fitness trainer, helping runners to recover effectively from their race.

BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI is committed to continuously enhancing the value of urban stays through initiatives that bridge sports, culture, and community. This progressive approach marks a new chapter in hospitality, prioritizing guests’ overall experiences.
