EfPico and Heart Friend Join Forces for Sustainability
In a significant step towards environmental sustainability,
株式会社エフピコ (EfPico) and
株式会社ハートフレンド (Heart Friend) have made a collaborative declaration aimed at reducing ecological footprints and promoting a sustainable circular economy. This partnership, known as the
Eco Store Collaboration Declaration, focuses on recycling used food trays collected from stores and transforming them into new food trays through what is known as the
Tray-to-Tray recycling method pioneered by EfPico.
Goals and Initiatives
The collaboration between these two companies is not just a symbolic gesture but a commitment to proactive measures that contribute to a greener future. Here’s how they intend to achieve their goals:
1. Collection Activities
Starting immediately, Heart Friend will implement collection activities at their Fresco stores. The company will accept used food trays and transparent containers from local residents, thereby encouraging community participation in recycling efforts.
2. Active Use of Eco Products
Once collected, these used containers will be processed by EfPico to create eco-friendly products, including
Eco Trays and
Eco APET. Heart Friend is committed to utilizing these eco-friendly products extensively in their retail environment in order to further reduce CO2 emissions.
3. Becoming Eco Leaders in the Community
EfPico and Heart Friend aim to position their stores as eco-leaders within their respective communities. They plan to promote effective recycling and environmental impact reduction actively. To bolster their campaign, Heart Friend will advocate for
Store-to-Store horizontal recycling practices at their storefronts, and will consider various advertising strategies, including signage, to encourage community engagement in recycling activities.
Commitments to Sustainability
This coalition reflects a significant commitment from both companies to work closely with local communities to foster a sustainable circular society. By aiming to maximize the effective use of recycled resources, they are setting a standard for corporate responsibility in environmental management.
EfPico is recognized as Japan’s largest manufacturer of disposable food containers used in supermarkets and convenience stores, and they have established groundbreaking recycling methods designed to circulate resources without changing their applications. This initiative marks a continuation of their mission to achieve sustainability through the development of eco-efficient containers and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
