On August 6, Kanesho Petro Co., a subsidiary of Kanesho Corporation, commenced the supply of marine biofuel to the newly built tugboat "Bisanmaru" at Mizushima Port in Okayama Prefecture. Operated by Seagate Corporation, the "Bisanmaru" stands out as the first tugboat in Japan to be equipped with an onboard biofuel blending device.

This remarkable vessel allows for the blending of biofuel provided by Kanesho Petro with A heavy oil, facilitating flexible fuel management to align with operational conditions and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets. Utilizing the biofuel not only improves fuel efficiency but also plays a significant role in the maritime industry's shift towards sustainability.

The biofuel supplied by Kanesho Petro is a FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) made from used cooking oil, produced by Chubu Ecobio LLC.
