The Canton Fair, known as China's premier trade show, is setting the stage for the future of lifestyle and technology. From May 1 to 5, 2025, the show attracted more than 12,000 exhibitors across 21 zones, demonstrating the global marketplace's expanding possibilities. This year, the event focused on five pivotal categories: Toys, Children and Baby Products, Fashion, Home Textiles, Stationery, and Health Recreation.
Among those attending was a South African buyer, who expressed excitement saying, “We’ve always dreamed of attending the Canton Fair.” Visitors got to take a peek at a variety of innovative items that change everyday living. For instance, American influencer Jack took to the floor to explore the latest technology. He tested a smart litter box that can be controlled via a mobile app, highlighting how tech is improving even the lives of pets. “Dogs have it better than I do,” he laughed, pondering the abundance of high-tech options available for our furry friends, including luxury camping tents.
The International Pavilion, dedicated to imported products, attracted visitors with its fragrant offerings of Turkish pastries and fresh brewed coffee. Jack shared a nostalgic moment while enjoying a butter cookie, reminiscent of his grandmother's baking. With nearly 70 years of history, the Canton Fair has turned into an essential event for global businesses. A Dutch buyer who began attending in 1992 remarked on how it carved a special place in his heart.
As one Pakistani football supplier noted, his connection to the Fair spans two decades thanks to his father's participation. “It just keeps getting bigger,” he said, reflecting on the growing impact of the event. Another buyer from Chile confidently claimed he hasn't missed a session in 12 years, which speaks volumes about the Fair’s importance in the industry.
