Dr. Kristen Steely: Celebrating 26 Years of Dedication to Spinal Health in South Carolina

October has been designated as Spinal Health Month, and for Dr. Kristen Steely, the owner of Anderson Wellness Center, this year's observance holds special significance. As she marks 26 years in the chiropractic field, Dr. Steely not only reflects on her professional journey but also celebrates the successful completion of her term as President of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association (SCCA) and the recognition she received from the South Carolina State House for her leadership in chiropractic care.

During her presidency, Dr. Steely became a prominent advocate for chiropractic health, representing the interests of South Carolinian chiropractors at the state level. She played a pivotal role in raising awareness during Spinal Health Month about the importance of chiropractic care in maintaining spinal health. One of the highlights of her career came when the South Carolina State House honored her contributions with a resolution acknowledging her dedicated service as SCCA President.

"Receiving that resolution was incredibly meaningful," Dr. Steely reflected. "It was not just an honor but a responsibility that I took seriously. I'm proud of the work we've done for our doctors, our profession, and the numerous patients in South Carolina who rely on chiropractic care."

Dr. Steely's long tenure at the SCCA includes eight years on its Board of Directors. Even though her presidential term has come to an end, her commitment to the profession remains strong as she takes on the role of Past President and continues to support both current and aspiring chiropractors in South Carolina. Her dedication did not go unnoticed, as she was recognized as the 2026 SCCA Chiropractor of the Year, a testament to her leadership and contributions to chiropractic practice in the state.

Amidst these milestones, Dr. Steely emphasizes the importance of revering the community she has served for over two decades. "With 26 years of experience, my passion for educating people on spinal care remains as strong as ever," she stated. "Understanding spinal health is crucial because it impacts movement, functionality, and overall quality of life. Taking care of your spine shouldn’t be something you start doing only when discomfort arises."

At Anderson Wellness Center, Dr. Steely and her team provide various conservative care options aimed at enhancing mobility, functionality, and quality of life. Their services include chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression therapy, Class IV laser therapy, shockwave therapy, massage therapy, and rehabilitation.

In honor of Spinal Health Month throughout October, the Anderson Wellness Center will organize community-focused initiatives designed to educate the public about healthy movement, correct posture, injury prevention, and maintaining mobility as we age. Dr. Steely elaborated by saying, "Spinal health contributes significantly to one's quality of life. Our mission is to enable individuals to remain active, independent, and engaged in activities they love."

Dr. Steely’s academic credentials are impressive, with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Niagara University, where she excelled in Division I women’s basketball; and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University, also earned with honors.
