C3 Appoints Boryana Borisova as Vice President of Product
In a significant move aimed at strengthening its position in the cybersecurity domain, C3, a recognized provider of compliance solutions for the U.S. Defense Industrial Base, has appointed Boryana Borisova as Vice President of Product. Borisova's extensive expertise and hands-on experience in Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) implementation will lead the product strategy, roadmap, and market direction for C3's offerings, including the C3 CMMC Reference Architecture, C3 Command, and C3 Catalyst.
Ryan Heidorn, CTO of C3, voiced his support for Borisova's appointment, highlighting her unique blend of technical skills and hands-on experience within the CMMC ecosystem. "Bory brings deep technical expertise, firsthand CMMC implementation experience, and a clear understanding of how compliance must work across the entire business," he stated. The connection between product strategy and the evolving compliance requirements is crucial for defense contractors, and Borisova is well-equipped to bridge that gap.
Borisova comes to C3 with over six years of experience specifically in the CMMC sector. Previously, she held technology leadership positions at BDO Public Sector, where her focus encompassed cloud operations, cybersecurity compliance, and guiding CMMC implementations. Her career also features a pivotal role within Caterpillar's government-contracting division, where she was responsible for interpreting emerging CMMC requirements and planning comprehensive strategies for implementation—all within an intricate operational landscape. These experiences have solidified her understanding of the technical, operational, and organizational elements that contribute to successful compliance programs.
In her new role, Borisova will collaborate closely with CTO Ryan Heidorn to take charge of the C3 CMMC Reference Architecture, while also guiding the development of C3 Command and C3 Catalyst. She will work in tandem with teams across engineering, service delivery, and market introduction to ensure that C3's products maintain responsiveness to customer feedback and adapt to regulatory changes and real-life assessment insights.
Borisova expressed her commitment to the mission of C3, indicating that she is motivated by the organization's people and solid product foundation. "I joined C3 because of the people and product foundation behind its approach. My focus is to bring that operator's perspective into every stage of the product lifecycle, so defense contractors have a clear, defensible path from implementation through assessment and ongoing compliance," she said.
Her appointment highlights C3’s ongoing efforts to invest in scalable, secure, and compliance-ready solutions for the Defense Industrial Base, underscoring the company's dedication to navigating the complex landscape of cybersecurity and compliance.
As C3 continues to bolster its product offerings, staying responsive to the needs of defense contractors is paramount. Borisova's leadership is expected to ensure that C3 not only meets but exceeds the compliance challenges facing the industry today. With a keen understanding of both the technical intricacies and the broader operational landscape, she is poised to make significant contributions that align with the strategic goals of C3 and its clients.
