Enjoy a Fun-Filled Family Day at 'Learn in Toshima: Summer Edition' on July 26

Exciting Family Activities in Toshima

On July 26th, Toshima Ward will host an engaging family event titled "Learn in Toshima: Summer Edition" at the historically significant Jiyu Gakuen Myonichikan. This collaboration between public and private sectors aims to provide children with a unique learning environment during summer break.

A Variety of Experiences Await

This year, the event will feature a total of 15 booths hosted by local enterprises and organizations, each offering interactive programs where parents and children can learn together about various important themes. From job experiences and disaster preparedness to traffic safety, environmental issues, arts, and science, there is something for everyone!

New this year, two organizations will participate for the first time, enhancing the artistic and cultural offerings for children. The Toshima Museum Network, headed by the Ancient Orient Museum, gathers 15 cultural facilities and will provide workshops such as "Write about Ancient Egyptian Culture," "Coral Quiz," and an interactive appreciation experience. Another newcomer, the Seinenza Theatre Company, will offer theatrical experiences where children can engage directly with actors, allowing them to explore the performing arts more deeply.

Learning Through Play

The event lineup is varied and includes exciting opportunities for children to learn about disaster response through simulations of severe weather events, alongside hands-on activities like riding emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police bikes, and patrol cars. Participants can also engage in festivals offering traditional games, craft making, and unique programs designed to enhance kids’ curiosity about the world.

The community director emphasizes the event’s purpose: "We hope that this event encourages children to develop new interests and enjoy learning, while deepening their connection to the community. We invite families to join us, keeping in mind measures against heatstroke."
