Forval's Innovative Move for Satsuma Town's Future
In a significant stride toward regional revitalization, Forval Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, has secured a contract for the "2026 Future Solutions project" in Satsuma Town, Kagoshima Prefecture. This initiative underscores a collaboration among Forval, Satsuma Town, Kagoshima International University, and Kagoshima Bank, forming the Satsuma Town Revitalization GDX Center, aimed at enhancing the local economy and workforce.
The 2026 project seeks to continue the operations of the GDX Center, focusing on providing visibility support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the town. This encompasses digital transformation (DX) talent development and support initiatives. The project is designed to counteract the challenges posed by a declining population and workforce outflow, particularly among youth and women, thus promoting sustainable regional development.
The GDX Center was established in December 2025 as a collaboration among four entities—local government, educational institutions, and financial institutions—all aiming to create jobs and foster talent skilled in GDX. With Forval at the forefront of this initiative, the firm is set to enhance SME visibility by working closely with 20 local businesses, helping them integrate necessary digital technologies and skills.
In addition to direct support for businesses, Forval will also collaborate with specialists from Imacrea, a partner company focused on developing DX talent. They will conduct seminars targeting workers in agriculture, caregiving, housewives, and new immigrants, aimed at providing the foundational skills necessary for thriving in digital environments.
Moreover, to facilitate the growth of the GDX Center, plans are underway to expand the office space within the recently repurposed "Kirara no Gakko" school site, bolstering facilities with additional call center capabilities and meeting rooms. These enhancements are part of a broader strategy to create a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports both local residents and newcomers.
Collaborating for a Brighter Future
The DX seminars will be structured in two levels: beginner and intermediate, with multiple sessions planned throughout the year. The first tier will introduce essential digital skills, while the intermediate level will delve deeper into more specialized knowledge required in the evolving digital landscape.
Imacrea is leading this educational initiative with a proven track record of successfully aiding local residents in reskilling efforts. Their approach has received recognition from the Cabinet Office with awards recognizing their efforts in local job creation through innovative telework solutions and comprehensive talent development programs.
The collaboration between Forval and Imacrea represents a model of how public-private partnerships can effectively address economic challenges in regional areas. By harnessing the strengths of each partner, this initiative aims to stem the outflow of the younger population while attracting new residents to the area.
