Operation Homefront's Veterans Day Campaign: A Call to Action
As Veterans Day approaches, Operation Homefront is stepping up its efforts to support military and veteran families who are currently experiencing unprecedented hardship. With rising inflation and economic instability compounded by a recent government shutdown, many military families, particularly those with junior enlisted members, are feeling the strain.
In fact, Operation Homefront has witnessed a staggering
39% increase in requests for Critical Financial Assistance and an alarming
57% rise in requests for food assistance over the past year. This significant rise in need highlights the urgent challenges faced by those who have dedicated their lives to serving the nation.
To address these challenges, Operation Homefront is launching a Veterans Day campaign from
November 1 to November 12, aiming to raise
$850,000. The funds raised will go directly towards providing essential resources and support to help military families maintain stability, ensuring they can keep their homes, utilities on, and food on the table.
Retired Rear Adm.
Alan Reyes, President and CEO of Operation Homefront, voice the organization’s commitment to supporting these families, stating, "These families have served and sacrificed for us. Now, it's our turn. Let’s ensure those who protect our freedom never face hardship alone."
Throughout the campaign, Operation Homefront plans to share real-life stories from families and caseworkers who are grappling with these struggles. The organization will also recognize the impactful contributions of its generous corporate partners, which include notable names such as
CarMax, Hilton Grand Vacations, The Home Depot Foundation, Impossible Foods, Love's Travel Stops, Meritage Homes, Northrop Grumman, and
PulteGroup, Inc.
By participating in this campaign, Americans can play a pivotal role in assisting military families in need. Operation Homefront is encouraging donations, sharing the campaign on social media, and promoting awareness to rally more support across the nation.
The goal is straightforward yet profoundly meaningful: through collective action and generosity, we can offer military families the relief, stability, and gratitude they richly deserve.
