Supporting Lives Beyond Pregnancy: Piccolare's Summer Donation Campaign

From July 1 to August 7, 2026, the certified NPO Piccolare will be holding a donation campaign titled "Supporting Lives Beyond Pregnancy: Aiming to Continue Accompanying Each Individual's Journey toward Finding Their Home". This initiative aims to respond to SOS calls and maintain connections during pregnancy struggles.

Piccolare, based in Toshima-ku, Tokyo, aims to provide robust support for individuals facing pregnancy-related challenges. The campaign underscores the vital importance of community and support systems as they resonate with those experiencing the complexity of pregnancy.

A striking report from the Child and Family Review Council shows that zero-month-old deaths consistently represent the largest demographic in child abuse mortality statistics, indicating a pressing need to address vulnerabilities from gestation. Recognizing this, Piccolare initiated a pregnancy conflict counseling service, "Ninshin SOS Tokyo," back in 2015, intending to safeguard lives threatened even from birth.

Over the years, many expectant mothers have reached out for help, and Piccolare has strived to create safe havens for them. In 2020, the organization established 'Pisar,' a supportive space aimed at providing sanctuary and fostering community connections for expectant mothers dealing with anxiety and the pressures of parenthood.

Throughout this initiative, the organization has been able to expand its outreach, ensuring that individuals do not remain isolated in their subsequent life struggles. Piccolare is dedicated to honoring the aspirations of each person who confides in them, whether they choose to carry their pregnancy to term or not, and regardless of whether they plan to raise their child. The diversity of choices reflects the varied needs for support, and Piccolare aims to address these unique individual requirements, which existing public support systems often overlook.

To bolster these efforts, Piccolare is calling for widespread donations to sustain their services. Contributions during the campaign period are tax-deductible under Japanese tax regulations, providing an added incentive for those wishing to lend their support.
