New Asia Forum Launches in Bali Aiming for $30 Billion Investment
New Asia Forum Launch in Bali: A Gateway to Future Investments
On December 3rd and 4th, 2026, Bali will host the inaugural New Asia Forum, a global platform aimed at attracting $30 billion in investments into the burgeoning economies of New Asia. This initiative, held under the patronage of Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto, is set to redefine the investment landscape in the region by creating meaningful connections between long-term capital and transformative opportunities.
The New Asia Forum is not just another conference; it represents a strategic move to place the Asia-Pacific region at the forefront of global economic growth. The region, which contributes nearly 60% of global economic expansion as projected by the IMF for 2025, currently attracts a disproportionately small share of international long-term investments. The forum is designed to address this gap by curating a portfolio of ready-to-finance projects that will showcase the potential of the region.
Hosted by Danantara Indonesia, the sovereign wealth fund, and organized by Richard Attias Associates, the forum will bring together heads of state, government ministers, sovereign investors, and CEOs from over 1,000 prominent companies. The discussions will revolve around eight strategic sectors:
1. Strategic Resources and Downstream Development
2. Energy and Power
3. Mobility and Advanced Manufacturing
4. Digital Infrastructure and AI
5. Agri-Food Systems
6. Trade and Connectivity
7. Tourism and the Creative Economy
8. Education and Human Capital
The unique aspect of this forum lies in its focus on transaction readiness and capital deployment, rather than merely exchanging ideas. Attendees will engage in structured sessions that aim to create actionable commitments and foster partnerships that will drive investment in the region. This targeted approach is expected to yield significant outcomes, with a keen emphasis on accountability and progress tracking across future editions of the forum.
Rosan Roeslani, CEO of Danantara Indonesia and Indonesia's Minister of Investment, emphasized the forum's role in bridging long-term international capital with the investment opportunities available in Indonesia and beyond. He stated, "As the sovereign investor of Indonesia and founding partner of the Forum, we invite our partners to explore these opportunities and create long-term value amid Indonesia's growing openness to the world fueled by ambition and collaboration."
Reflecting on the changes in perception towards Asia, Richard Attias, founder and CEO of Richard Attias Associates, highlighted that Asia is evolving from being merely a destination for international capital to a significant generator and shaper of investments. He remarked, "We are entering one of the most important investment cycles of our generation, with Asia at its core."
The New Asia Forum is designed to facilitate a vibrant ecosystem where investment meets innovation, ultimately driving sustainable economic development in the region. With over 100 speakers and 40 sessions planned over two days, the forum promises to be a landmark event that will set the pace for future investment endeavors in New Asia.
As the countdown to the event begins, stakeholders across various sectors are preparing to engage and leverage the opportunities presented at the New Asia Forum, united in the vision of a prosperous and interconnected future for the region and its people. This forum not only symbolizes a pivotal moment for Indonesia but signals the rising prominence of New Asia on the global economic stage.
