Experience A Unique Art and Culinary Event with Antique Imari Ceramics

A Unique Art and Culinary Experience

The Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel, located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is hosting a special event titled "A Gourmet Experience with Antique Imari Ceramics" on January 26 and 27, 2026. This two-day exclusive event invites guests to immerse themselves in the delicate beauty of Antique Imari ceramics after visiting the "Exhibition of Living Creatures in Antique Imari" held at the Toguri Museum.

Exhibition Details

The exhibition features approximately 80 carefully selected pieces from the Edo period, showcasing various living creatures depicted in Imari porcelain. Attendees will enjoy a unique display that resembles flipping through the pages of an illustrated encyclopedia, highlighting animals, birds, dragons, and insects — all beautifully crafted in the intricate style of Imari ceramics. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to view priceless artworks up close in a special viewing room, alongside an expert-guided tour provided exclusively for event participants.

Culinary Experience

Following the art viewing, guests will savor a specially prepared Japanese cuisine lunch course at the hotel's restaurant, "Sukiya," located on the second basement floor. Here, the talented chefs will use ingredients sourced from Saga Prefecture, incorporating Imari ceramics into the presentation of select dishes, enhancing the aesthetic and cultural experience of dining. This combination of exquisite culinary art and traditional tableware takes place within the refined ambiance of Sukiya, a restaurant designed in the classic sukiya architectural style.
