SANYO Award 2025 Ceremony: A Celebration of Excellence in Retail and Product Innovation
On June 5, 2025, SANYO Shokai held its annual
SANYO Award ceremony at the Grand Hill City Hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This event aims to recognize outstanding performance in retail, product development, and individual salespeople within their organization over the period from March 2025 to February 2026.
In the
Retail Division, out of 727 stores nationwide, 33 locations were highlighted for significantly contributing to achieving annual budget goals. In the
Product Division, a rigorous selection process evaluated 17 products submitted by various brands based on their sales metrics and market performance, ultimately awarding four products with the
Excellence Award and one with the
Sustainable Award. The ceremony was attended by about 90 representatives from stores and planning departments across the country, who celebrated the achievements of the winning stores and products, culminating in the announcement of the
Grand Prize and
Runner-Up Awards.
This year marks a significant enhancement of the awards with the introduction of a
Special Award for OMO (Online Merges with Offline) Promotion, designed to further encourage activities melding physical and digital customer experiences. The awards specifically recognize those efforts that enhance customer engagement through innovative online and offline interactions, introducing categories for
Staff Snap and
Influencer to celebrate the unique contributions of individual sales staff.
SANYO Shokai utilizes this award to continually enhance employee engagement, maximizing human capital value, and pioneering new customer experiences through OMO initiatives. The company aims to integrate employees' expertise and creativity, maintaining a culture of excellence and teamwork.
About the SANYO Award
Since 1986, SANYO Shokai has been committed to elevating the skills and motivation of its fashion advisors (sales personnel), aiming to foster internal communication. An annual
Outstanding Salesperson Award Ceremony was held until the program evolved into the
SANYO Award in 2017, which added a
Product Division focusing on product development. In 2022, a
Sustainable Award was introduced to promote environmentally-friendly product development practices.
For the 2025 awards, the newly established
Special Award for OMO seeks to maximize customer experience value by promoting digital involvement by staff via online shops and social media. This initiative aligns with broader corporate strategies of strengthening customer engagement.
Selection and Winners of the Retail Division
The
Retail Division evaluation process for the 2025 award considered four criteria: budget achievement rate, year-on-year performance, per head sales, and cost rate. The
Excellence Award acknowledged 23 stores that demonstrated significant contributions toward achieving their set objectives. The
Grand Prize and
Runner-Up Awards recognized the exceptional stores among those awarded the Excellence title.
