The Designery South Jordan Welcomes Community with Grand Opening Celebration

On May 6, The Designery is set to unveil its first Utah location in South Jordan, making a notable entry into the local community. Owners Doug and Geri Walton aim to showcase their innovative kitchen, bath, and closet design services through a spectacular grand opening event from 2-4 p.m. at their showroom in the South Jordan Towne Center, located at 10429 S Redwood Road.

The grand opening promises to be a memorable event for South Jordan residents, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, delicious refreshments provided by local restaurants, and exciting prizes to be won. Visitors will have the chance to explore the impressive showroom that The Designery has established in collaboration with their partners such as The Slade Group, Elegant Universal Stone, South Valley Building Company, and MSI Tile.

In an interview, Doug Walton expressed his excitement, saying, "We have always wanted the opportunity to open a small business, work with family members, and provide a business that services the community." He referred to Salt Lake City as a perfect 'big, small town' where one can easily connect with local leaders while also recognizing the area’s growth and vibrancy.

Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Doug Walton has a storied career that has included roles in customized accounting software sales, computer engineering, and organization change leadership at major companies, including Cisco Systems and Clorox. Geri Walton, who is from Salt Lake City, brings her experience as a supervisor in the corporate publishing world and a freelance writer, having authored four books and over 1,000 articles.

Together, the Waltons have been married for 28 years and are parents to two grown children, Cori and Chase. The Designery South Jordan is designed to cater to residents from more than 42 cities in the area, including Salt Lake City, West Jordan, Provo, Sandy, Orem, and Saratoga Springs.

One of the unique aspects that sets The Designery apart is its in-house design expertise paired with a vast selection of products. Customers have access to over 100 cabinet styles and more than 25 color options for closets, ensuring that both homeowners and contractors can find tailored solutions for their projects. The immersive showroom is equipped for personal design consultations, enabling clients to select materials and finishes that truly reflect their vision, supported by a virtual reality design view for enhanced planning.
