TENT's Innovative Furniture Exhibition

The creative unit TENT will host a furniture exhibition titled 'Furniture as a Tool' at their venue, TENT's TEMPO, located at 2-15-8 Ikejiri, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. This exciting event is scheduled from June 18 (Wednesday) to July 13 (Sunday), 2025. TENT, which focuses on product design and various aspects of manufacturing, presents this exhibition to highlight furniture as an essential tool to solve contemporary living challenges.

Exhibition Highlights

At the 'Furniture as a Tool' exhibition, TENT will introduce innovative products developed from their unique perspective. Visitors will have the opportunity to see items that demonstrate inventive functions and designs that elevate the concept of furniture being more than just decorative objects. Alongside previously released products, the exhibition will also feature new and yet-to-be-released furniture co-developed with Karimoku, a reputable Japanese furniture manufacturer.

Throughout the exhibition period, visitors will also be able to purchase a variety of products outside of the furniture range typically offered at TENT's TEMPO.

Talk Event

On the opening day, June 18, 2025, a special talk event will take place featuring Yudai Awaji, a skilled woodworker with over 10 years of experience and the Operations Manager at Karimoku Commons Tokyo. During this session, Awaji will discuss TENT's past furniture projects and the new products currently being developed in collaboration with Karimoku. Participation in the event is free, but space is limited.

Meet the Speakers

- Yudai Awaji: A member of the Business Development and Promotions Division at Karimoku Furniture Co., Awaji is a graduate of Aoyama Gakuin University. With extensive experience as a woodworker and in corporate sales, he joined Karimoku in March 2022.

- Masayuki Harita: Co-founder of TENT, Harita has worked in design firms and lifestyle goods manufacturing. As a freelancer, he has designed an array of products ranging from home appliances to interior items.

- Ryosaku Aoki: Also a co-founder of TENT, Aoki's background includes product design for Olympus Imaging Corporation and Sony Corporation, focusing on audio equipment, cameras, and peripheral PC devices.

TENT's TEMPO is a retail space where minimalist and efficient tools are offered, operated by TENT. It features a curated selection of tableware, stationery, home electronics, and furniture designed and developed by TENT. The store provides a unique perspective from product designers who engage with the creative process from conception to execution. After opening its first location in Shimokitazawa in 2021, TENT's TEMPO relocated to its current site in Ikejiri in October 2023.
