JFE Tech Research's Participation in Automotive World 2026
JFE Tech Research Corporation, based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is gearing up to exhibit at the upcoming "Automotive World Autumn 2026 EV, HV, and FCV Technology Exhibition". This event is scheduled from September 9 to 11, 2026, at Makuhari Messe. The company's booth will showcase a variety of advanced technologies that contribute to the enhancement of electric vehicles (EVs) and other mobility solutions, focusing on motor performance evaluation, magnetic and insulating material assessments, motor bench testing, reverse engineering, and circular economy technology support.
In light of the shift towards carbon neutrality and the advancing electrification of the automotive sector, there is an increasing demand for motors that are more efficient, powerful, and reliable. Simultaneously, the significance of a comprehensive technical support framework that spans from material development to prototype evaluation, performance verification, failure analysis, and resource recycling is growing.
JFE Tech Research aims to leverage its extensive expertise in analysis, evaluation, and testing to support research and development, as well as quality assurance for automotive manufacturers, parts suppliers, and material producers. At the exhibition, the theme will center around "Comprehensive Evaluation of Automotive Motor Performance," presenting a multifaceted array of evaluation and analysis services to address real-world development challenges, approaching issues from material, component, and system levels.
Key Exhibit Highlights
1. Measurement of Motor Shaft Voltage (Live Demonstration)
In inverter-driven motors, shaft voltage generation is a challenge linked to bearing electrical erosion and long-term reliability reduction. Our booth will feature a live demonstration of shaft voltage measurement technology. By visualizing shaft voltage behavior caused by high-frequency switching, we propose evaluation solutions that can aid motor design, insulation measures, and improvements in durability.
2. Evaluation and Analysis of Motor Materials (Magnetic and Insulating Materials)
Understanding the material properties vital for high-efficiency motor development, as well as addressing root causes of failures, is essential for next-generation mobility. We will measure the magnetic properties of materials under high and low temperatures and stress conditions, including key future materials like amorphous and permendur, which are crucial for increased performance. Additional evaluations of insulation characteristics, vital for heightened efficiency, will also be included.
3. Drive Performance Testing of Motors and Inverters (Bench Tests) and Specialized Measurements
Assessing EV motor performance requires tests that replicate actual driving conditions alongside a detailed understanding of electromagnetic phenomena. JFE Tech Research possesses advanced testing capabilities, utilizing a dedicated motor bench for performance evaluations, complemented by specialized measurement technologies employing thin-film probes. This allows for visualization of spatial magnetic flux distribution and electromagnetic behavior, fostering design enhancements aimed at motor performance and efficiency.
4. Reverse Engineering, CAE Model Creation, and Analysis of Motors
In the competitive EV landscape, understanding the structural analysis and design concepts of advanced motors is crucial. Through disassembly, structural analysis, dimensional measurement, and material analysis, we will build digital models and extend them into CAE simulations to assist in performance evaluation and design considerations. This also proves useful for benchmarking existing products and conducting technological investigations.
5. Support for Circular Economy (CE) Technologies
With the progress of electrification, addressing resource circulation and reducing environmental impact has emerged as a critical issue within the automotive industry. JFE Tech Research aids companies in advancing their circular economy strategies through life cycle assessments (LCA), resource recyclability evaluations, material analysis, and recycling technology evaluations. This comprehensive technical support, encompassing product development through to recycling, contributes to realizing a sustainable mobility society.
