Top Lot's 23rd Wine Auction Announcement

Top Lot, a leading auction house, is set to host its 23rd Wine Auction on September 5 and 6, 2026, in Toranomon, Tokyo. This two-day event promises a remarkable selection of wines, with special emphasis on the legendary collection from entrepreneur Mr. H, featuring Château Mouton Rothschild vintages spanning from 1874 to 2022. This collection includes some of the most celebrated years, such as 1945, 1959, 1982, 1986, 2016, and 2020, alongside rare vintages that have become almost impossible to find in today's market due to their early consumption.

In addition to Mr. H’s collection, a significant portion of the offerings includes selections from Dr. K, a passionate wine enthusiast whose collection has been built over more than 50 years through acquisitions from esteemed sources like the Jardine Wine Club and Berry Brothers & Rudd, as well as prestigious auctions abroad. Other notable collections showcased in this auction include those from Mr. J, a long-established liquor retailer with a century of history, and Mr. A, the owner of a well-known wine specialty store. All wines have been meticulously stored in dedicated cellars, ensuring their pristine condition.

The auction will feature a diverse array of wines from renowned regions, including popular Bordeaux and Burgundy selections, as well as notable offerings from California, Italy, and Champagne. With a total of 1,311 lots, totaling 3,520 bottles, the auction is expected to attract significant interest, with a total anticipated starting bid of approximately 175.4 million yen.
