The Extra Añejo is produced in the celebrated region of Los Altos in Jalisco, Mexico, where the brand’s commitment to quality begins with hand-harvested Blue Weber Agave. This latest expression enhances Espolòn's signature agave-forward flavor, but what sets it apart is the innovative double-cask aging process.

Aged to Perfection

Espolòn Extra Añejo is distinct from many of its contemporaries due to its careful aging process. It undergoes a 30-month maturation in American Oak barrels, followed by an additional six months in French Chardonnay casks. This unexpected blend introduces an exciting layer of complexity that broadens the flavor profile. Traditional Extra Añejos often stick only to American Oak, but here, the interplay between caramel and vanilla notes mingles harmoniously with the softer characteristics imparted by the Chardonnay finish, resulting in a rich and inviting quality.
