The iconic Design Ah! Exhibition neo is continuing its run at TOKYO NODE, the information hub located in Toranomon Hills, due to overwhelming visitor interest. Originally scheduled to close on September 23, 2025, the exhibition will now remain open until October 13, 2025. This exciting showcase is a collaboration between TOKYO NODE, NHK, NHK Educational, and NHK Promotion.

The Design Ah! Exhibition neo provides a hands-on experience based on the NHK E-Television program "Design Ah! neo". Marking approximately four years since its last national tour and seven years since its last event in Tokyo, this exhibition has shifted its focus from objects to actions. It aims to engage children in the fun of design thinking and exploration.

Since its opening, tickets for weekends and holidays have been selling out rapidly. In response, the organizers have adjusted the opening hours and removed restrictions on certain short business days to accommodate more attendees. The exhibition will not be touring domestically, which has prompted the decision to extend its run, ensuring that more people have the chance to enjoy this thought-provoking event.

Tickets for the extended period, from September 24 to October 13, will go on sale online starting August 28 at 2 PM, encouraging visitors not to miss this opportunity to experience the creative thrill of design.

What is Design Ah! Exhibition neo?

The Design Ah! Exhibition neo is an updated installment of the previous Design Ah! Exhibitions, which attracted a total of 1.16 million visitors over the last two events. This exhibition is significant for being the longest-running installment in its history while still maintaining its core concept of fostering joy and exploration through design for children.

Alongside returning themes that encourage various ways of thinking about and discovering design, this year’s exhibition features new works that elevate the experience. Featuring installations that integrate audio and visual elements, attendees can fully immerse themselves and engage physically with the artworks.

Accompanying the exhibition are special menus offered at restaurants within Toranomon Hills, as well as design-inspired decorations throughout the area. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the creative spirit of the Design Ah! Exhibition neo even after leaving the exhibition space.
