Efforts to Reduce CO2 Emissions through Eco-Friendly Initiatives by F-Pico and Nakajima Suisan

Collaboration for CO2 Reduction

In a significant move towards sustainability, F-Pico Co., Ltd. and Nakajima Suisan Co., Ltd. have announced the "Eco Store Collaboration Declaration" aimed at reducing CO2 emissions across their operations. With a shared vision for a more sustainable future, these two leading firms will actively utilize eco-friendly products such as "Eco Trays" and "Eco APET" in their stores across Kanto and Southeast Asia.

Background of the Initiative

F-Pico, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, strives to realize a sustainable society through innovative recycling methods termed "F-Pico Recycling System." This system focuses on the circular economy of earthly resources, significantly reducing CO2 emissions while using eco-friendly containers. Notably, their projects include transforming used food trays back into new trays through the "Tray-to-Tray" initiative, and recycling used plastic bottles into transparent containers via the "Bottle-to-Transparent Container" approach.

Achievements and Targets for Emission Reductions

As part of their commitment, Nakajima Suisan actively employs F-Pico's eco products, which has already resulted in a CO2 emission reduction of 125 tons by March 2026. Looking ahead, the fresh fish specialty store aims to expedite the transition from traditional packaging to eco-friendly solutions for its sushi and sashimi offerings. By March 2027, the goal is to further increase the reduction to 150 tons, marking a significant achievement in their environmental efforts.

Engaging Customers through Awareness Activities

To widely communicate these initiatives and encourage community involvement, both companies plan to display informational posters in their stores detailing their CO2 reduction achievements. Additionally, they will leverage in-store communication strategies to foster environmental awareness among consumers, contributing to the cultivation of a sustainable circular society.
