Bank of America Welcomes New Leadership in Oklahoma City
In a significant leadership change, Bank of America has named Olena Lifset as its new president for the Oklahoma City region. Lifset, who has extensive experience in global commercial banking, takes over from Tony Shinn, who has successfully led the market for 20 years and is stepping down to retire.
As president, Lifset's mission will be to connect clients, teammates, and communities, ensuring that the full potential of the Bank of America franchise is harnessed. With a strategy focused on building local relationships, she will work across the company's eight lines of business, aiming to enhance market share by identifying opportunities for growth and collaboration.
Brian Moynihan, the Chair of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of America, expressed confidence in Lifset’s abilities. He stated, "Olena's established leadership and experience will ensure we're delivering on our responsible growth strategy to deepen relationships with teammates, clients and the community." Moynihan added that Lifset will build upon the solid foundation laid by Shinn, continuing to provide critical financial resources to clients in Oklahoma City.
With nearly 25 years in the financial sector, including roles in commercial banking and management consulting, Lifset has a commendable background. She has previously led teams that serve middle-market companies across several states, including Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Her leadership style emphasizes disciplined resource allocation, talent development, and strong service to clients, making her a well-rounded choice for this pivotal role.
Lifset is also known for her community engagement, having served on numerous civic and professional boards. Currently, she sits on the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board and is an active member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society of Oklahoma. In recognition of her contributions, she was included in the Oklahoma City Journal Record Power List for Women in Accounting, Banking, and Finance in 2025.
In terms of education, Lifset holds a Master’s in Accountancy from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Affairs from Lafayette College. Furthermore, she is a CFA charter holder and possesses several financial licenses, which enhance her qualifications.
Bank of America maintains a strong presence in Oklahoma City, operating nine financial centers and managing nearly $4 billion in FDIC-insured deposits. The firm has actively contributed to the local economy, extending over $733 million in loans to businesses in the area. In 2025 alone, the company provided significant support to local homebuyers, lending $40 million and granting $1 million to help expand homeownership for families locally.
In addition to this, Bank of America has invested more than $4 million into local nonprofits since 2020, supporting essential services like workforce development, affordable housing, and emergency services.
As Lifset steps into her new role, her leadership is anticipated to propel Bank of America's initiatives further, reinforcing the company’s commitment to responsible growth and community engagement. With a robust background in banking and a dedication to service, Olena Lifset is poised to make a meaningful impact on Oklahoma City's financial landscape.
