Changemakers Meetup 2025: Uniting Youth for Social Impact
The Changemakers Meetup 2025 is an exciting event aimed at youth under the age of 25 who aspire to enact social change in their communities and beyond. Scheduled to take place in Osaka and Kumamoto, as well as online, this immersive gathering will provide a platform for young change-makers to present their actions and ideas, exchanging insights and motivation to amplify their impact.
Event Overview
This year's meetup follows the success of the Changemakers Festival, which began in 2021 as a means to celebrate and encourage social actions connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants will come together to not only showcase their projects but also engage with various esteemed guests who are champions of social change. The event is organized by the certified NPO, Free the Children Japan, and aims to foster a supportive environment that empowers youth to take action.
Exciting Lineup of Guests
Among the confirmed guests for this year’s meetup are notable personalities like the comedic duo UpDown, who utilize their art to engage audiences in conversations about history and societal issues. Joining them are other inspiring figures such as Taihei Mizuno, the founder of Fair Trade brand Sisam, who will motivate young change-makers by sharing his journey of establishing fair trade practices in Japan. In Kumamoto, singer and MC Akari Okada will uplift attendees with her heartfelt support songs, emphasizing community connection.
These guests will share their insights during various segments of the event, including performances and speeches, fostering an enriching experience for all involved.

Attendees are encouraged to share their experiences in social action, whether through volunteering, fundraising, or participating in community initiatives aimed at addressing local and global challenges.
