Bullet Group Secures Spot in 2nd Hiroshima AI Sandbox Initiative

Bullet Group Inc. has been officially selected to participate in the "2nd Hiroshima AI Sandbox," an initiative led by Hiroshima Prefecture. This collaboration with Etajima City aims to launch an AI demonstration project focused on enhancing comprehensive welfare support. The project will explore the practicality of organizing and utilizing decentralized information found in the city’s welfare sector, thereby enabling staff to make informed support decisions more easily.

Demonstration Details

The project aims to address various challenges that households often face, including caregiving, child-rearing, and economic hardship. In many instances, a single household grapples with multiple issues at once, underscoring the necessity of a cross-sectional understanding of the overall family situation. However, existing systems present several obstacles:

Structural Challenges

Municipal information is currently managed and segmented by different systems and departments, creating barriers to effective communication and collaboration.

Staff Burden

Welfare staff must repeatedly contact different departments and manually reconcile disparate information, adding to their workload.

The purpose of this demonstration is to effectively organize the information scattered across various administrative offices – such as documents and consultation records – using AI technology. This will enable easier decision-making for staff while ensuring the privacy of residents is strictly maintained. The development team and staff from Etajima City will work closely together to create a system that fits seamlessly into existing operational workflows.

What Is the Hiroshima AI Sandbox?

The Hiroshima AI Sandbox is an AI demonstration support program promoted by Hiroshima Prefecture. It matches private AI developers with real-world testing grounds within the region to support practical AI utilization. In the current fiscal period, 17 projects have been adopted for this initiative, with Bullet Group being selected for both the first and second phases in succession.

Why Etajima City?

Bullet Group has established a development center in Etajima City called “COCODEMO Etajima.” Being located in the city provides a significant advantage, as employees can approach local challenges from a citizen's perspective. Utilizing the experience accumulated at COCODEMO Etajima, this initiative will evolve into a scalable model that can expand across Hiroshima and eventually nationwide. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the realization of comprehensive welfare support through AI technology.
