CARsgen Therapeutics Unveils Promising Interim Results for 2026, Showcasing Groundbreaking Progress

CARsgen Therapeutics: A Leader in CAR T-Cell Innovations

CARsgen Therapeutics Holdings Limited, a pioneering company in the field of CAR T-cell therapies, recently announced its interim results for 2026, showcasing substantial advancements and financial health. Founded to address the pressing needs of patients with cancers that resist traditional therapies, CARsgen is making significant strides in developing innovative treatments.

Financial Snapshot

As of June 30, 2026, CARsgen reported cash and cash equivalents amounting to approximately RMB 1.4 billion, demonstrating a robust financial position. With expectations to maintain at least RMB 1.2 billion until the end of the year, the company is optimistic about its funding until 2030. Despite the challenges in the CAR T manufacturing cycle, CARsgen achieved notable revenue of about RMB 62 million, primarily from its flagship product, zevorcabtagene autoleucel (commonly known as zevor-cel). This innovative treatment focuses on patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (R/R MM).

Milestone Achievements

One of the most significant highlights from CARsgen during the first half of 2026 was the NMPA approval of satri-cel, marking it as the first-ever CAR T-cell therapy authorized for use in solid tumors. Dr. Zonghai Li, the company’s founder and CEO, hailed this accomplishment as a historic breakthrough, underscoring CARsgen's dedication over the last decade in pushing the boundaries within the solid tumor space. This approval not only consolidates CARsgen's position as a leader in the CAR T-cell therapy arena but also opens up new possibilities for treating solid tumors like gastric and pancreatic cancers, which have limited treatment options currently available.

Additionally, during the recent ASCO Annual Meeting, CARsgen presented data underscoring the effectiveness of satri-cel as a sequential therapy in patients with gastric/gastroesophageal junction cancers (G/GEJA), further validating its promising impact on patient outcomes.

Expanding the Therapeutic Pipeline

Carolgen’s pipeline is also notable for the development of multiple allogeneic CAR T-cell products derived from its proprietary THANK-u Plus® platform. The company is actively pursuing research for promising candidates such as CT0596, aimed at treating R/R multiple myeloma, and CT1190B, which targets refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. These products recently received IND approvals from the NMPA, signifying accelerated progress towards commercialization.

Furthermore, CARsgen is venturing into in vivo CAR T-cell products utilizing its innovative CARvivo™ platform, which boasts high transduction efficiencies and robust specificity. The latest addition, KJ-C2529, is focused on treating B-cell malignancies, thus enhancing the range of treatment options for patients.

Strategic Collaborations

In alignment with its growth objectives, CARsgen has partnered with Huadong Medicine for the commercialization of zevor-cel in mainland China. This collaboration envisions increasing patient accessibility through a structured payment system and by harnessing a professional commercial team dedicated to promoting the drug.
