HiBy Unveils the RS2 II: A Compact Hi-Fi Player Highlighting DARWIN III Architecture

HiBy RS2 II: A Breakthrough in Portable Hi-Fi Audio

HiBy has officially introduced the RS2 II, a compact and portable Hi-Fi player designed to deliver exceptional audio quality in a smaller form factor. Utilizing the groundbreaking DARWIN III audio architecture, which is also featured in HiBy's flagship RS8 II model, the RS2 II is crafted for audiophiles who appreciate high-fidelity sound while on the go.

Advanced Audio Technology

At the heart of the RS2 II lies the newly developed DARWIN III architecture. This innovative platform is powered by a cutting-edge FPGA digital engine that boasts over 35,000 logic units and 40 high-speed DSPs. Such processing power enables the implementation of HiBy's adjustable pure FIR filters, multiple DARWIN filters, harmonic control, NOS/OS switching, and native DSD processing. The RS2 II ensures that every note is rendered with precision, achieving a natural and transparent sound.

The digital-to-analog conversion employs a high-precision R2R resistor network. Electronic switches meticulously regulate this network, converting digital signals to their corresponding analog voltage levels. This attention to detail minimizes high-frequency noise caused by digital modulation and contributes to the player's overall musicality.

The analog stage takes advantage of a four-stage signal chain using OPA1612 components. One OPA1612 performs low-pass filtering right after the DAC, while another provides current amplification following the volume control. Additionally, two more OPA1612s create a fully balanced voltage amplification stage. To further enhance performance, four high-end OPA1622 amplifiers are included, delivering independent current amplification across four channels. This design decision elevates dynamics, control, and compatibility with multi-driver headphones.

Compact and Sophisticated Design

The RS2 II's design is not only sophisticated but also more compact than its predecessor. The standard aluminum alloy edition weighs in at a mere 156 grams and sports an elegant dark green finish adorned with a houndstooth-patterned back panel. The device's display area has been expanded by 45%, and its resolution has increased by 122%. The upgraded 3.55-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800, complemented by narrower bezels, significantly enhances the visual experience.

Additionally, the RS2 II is powered by a dual-core X1600E processor, further optimizing system responsiveness for an intuitive user experience. Featuring HiBy’s proprietary HiByOS, the player offers a range of output options including coaxial, line-out, and USB DAC functionality. The RS2 II includes two microSD card slots, allowing users to expand storage capacity up to an impressive 4 TB.

Pricing and Availability

The standard aluminum model of the HiBy RS2 II is priced at $439 and is available for purchase, while a limited brass edition, priced at $549, is expected to launch in October with only 500 units produced worldwide.

In summary, the HiBy RS2 II stands out as a remarkable portable Hi-Fi player poised to redefine the listening experience for audiophiles everywhere. With its flagship audio technology and portability, it is set to become a favored device in the demanding audio landscape.
