ELFBAR and LOST MARY Introduce Groundbreaking R&D Advances and Safety Protocols for 2025

ELFBAR and LOST MARY Reveal Breakthroughs in Safety and Innovation for 2025

In an important update for the vaping sector, leaders ELFBAR and LOST MARY have disclosed their latest advancements in research and development, alongside significant improvements in safety protocols planned for 2025. This news highlights the companies' unwavering commitment to product quality and safety in a rapidly evolving market.

Record-Breaking Tests Conducted in 2025

This year has seen an unprecedented level of diligence in the testing of vaping products. More than 136,000 tests have been conducted to evaluate e-liquids, aerosols, and materials, reinforcing the brands’ dedication to maintaining high safety standards. Samuel Fu, the R&D Engineering Director for both brands, emphasized the role of stringent testing in their operational framework, stating, “Rigorous testing remains pivotal to our R&D processes.”

Scientific Advancements in Nicotine Salts

Among the developments is a notable peer-reviewed study addressing the safety of nicotine salts, particularly focusing on the use of lactate and benzoate nicotine formulations. Findings indicated that e-liquids containing 2% nicotine lactate had higher nickel release rates compared to those using nicotine benzoate. This research has prompted the companies to phase out lactate nicotine and nickel-chromium components from their products to enhance consumer safety. Fu calls upon the entire vaping industry and regulators to exercise caution in nicotine formulations to promote better industry standards.

Expansion of Testing Protocols

The pathway towards improved safety is bolstered by the implementation of 300 pre-market testing procedures that include 170 chemical analyses, 98 material assessments, and 32 reliability tests for products before they are launched. Since May 2025, 28 new testing protocols have been added to ensure comprehensive evaluations of chemical compositions in e-liquids and aerosols, verifying the brands' commitment to rigorous quality control.

This meticulous approach is supported by favorable results from competency tests carried out by the UK’s Government Chemist Laboratory, further validating the brands' internal testing capabilities and regulatory compliance.

Innovation Driven by Patent Portfolio

ELFBAR and LOST MARY have submitted over 2,200 patent applications worldwide, with more than 900 already granted as of November 2025. This patent portfolio covers crucial aspects of product design, e-liquid formulation, materials, software, and electronic systems, underscoring the brands’ innovation drive. Fu noted, “Several revolutionary technologies are in development, poised to redefine vaping products and elevate their overall safety.”

Commitment to a Safer Vaping Future

With the vaping landscape shifting rapidly, the continual refinement of product safety and efficiency practices at ELFBAR and LOST MARY is crucial. “We are committed to providing reduced-risk products that adult users can trust. We continuously enhance their safety by optimizing testing capabilities and ensuring that every device meets regulatory thresholds,” Fu stated.

The ongoing evolution of product standards emphasizes the necessity for manufacturers to uphold the highest safety protocols and reflect a proactive approach to public health and consumer well-being.
