This year, KOMEHYO will present its first-ever collaboration with Brother Industries, introducing a premium version of the Kids Academy. This special program focuses on utilizing kimono remnants sourced from KOMEHYO’s transactions, and students will use Brother sewing machines to explore the wonders of upcycling.

1. Sustainable Sewing Workshop: Participants will learn about the history and evolving role of sewing in society. They’ll discover how to breathe new life into unused items, engage in creative reinterpretation, and develop an appreciation for sustainable living.
2. Jewelry Appraisal Experience: Under the guidance of KOMEHYO’s certified appraisers, students will learn about evaluating the value of different materials, enhancing their understanding of jewelry.
3. Upcycling Session: Children will craft charming pouches using kimono fabric remnants and will adorn their creations with decorative charms made from repurposed pearls.

Standard Kids Academy Activities

The standard KOMEHYO Kids Academy will also feature remarkable workshops:
