Adecco Launches the Tokyo Future Work Promotion Project for 2026

Adecco, the Japan branch of the global leader in human resources services, has embarked on a significant new initiative with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government called the "Tokyo Future Work Promotion Project for 2026." This project aims to enhance productivity in workplaces by encouraging the integration of technology and promoting flexible work styles among companies in the region.

The urgency of this initiative stems from a pressing issue facing many organizations in Japan: a decreasing working-age population has led to a significant labor shortage. Companies now find themselves challenged to secure talent and enhance productivity to sustain and grow their operations. While adopting flexible work arrangements and leveraging technology have proven effective in addressing these challenges, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggle with a lack of resources, knowledge, and funding necessary to implement these reforms.

Through this new project, Adecco is dedicated to blending various strategies tailored to the individual needs of companies, from raising awareness to practical implementation and spreading best practices. One critical component is hosting the "Future Work Promotion Forum," designed to foster an understanding of the necessity for new working styles while also actively recognizing companies committed to creating diverse and flexible work environments. These exemplary organizations will be certified as "Tokyo Sustainable Work Companies."

As part of the initiative, Adecco will also support businesses considering revising their employment regulations to promote diverse working patterns. This includes providing professional advice from social insurance labor consultants and helping these enterprises work toward the Tokyo Sustainable Work Company registration.

In addition to these supportive measures, Adecco will host the "Tokyo Future Work Award" to recognize outstanding initiatives by companies. This award will serve as a platform to promote successful examples, encouraging other enterprises to adopt work style reforms and utilize technology more effectively.

Adecco's proven track record in managing various contracted projects with local governments and organizations positions the company uniquely to leverage its extensive experience in promoting healthier work environments for businesses throughout Japan. This upcoming initiative represents a commitment to harness the knowledge and expertise accumulated over the years to support the growth of Japanese companies and their workforce.
