Strategic Partnership Between Teikyo University and France Bed



On December 24, 2025, Teikyo University, located in Itabashi, Tokyo, signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with France Bed, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This agreement builds upon the existing sponsorship arrangement between France Bed and the university's Ekiden racing team. By leveraging mutual human and intellectual resources, the two institutions plan to collaborate on solving societal challenges and creating new value through education, research, and technology development.

Teikyo University Leadership

The ongoing sponsorship relationship began in 2021, when France Bed became the official sponsor of Teikyo University's Ekiden team. The team's uniforms have prominently featured the France Bed logo during numerous events, including the prestigious Hakone Ekiden, which is a major collegiate relay race in Japan. This new agreement signifies not only a continuation of their partnership but also an expansion into collaborative projects across various domains.

Teikyo University was established in 1966 in Hachioji, Tokyo. About France Bed


Founded in 1949, France Bed has been dedicated to enhancing the everyday lives of Japanese citizens by manufacturing and wholesaling beds, furniture, and bedding products. In 1983, under the leadership of current president Shigeru Ikeda, France Bed pioneered the rental of nursing beds even before the establishment of Japan's public nursing care insurance system. Continually promoting ‘creation and innovation,’ France Bed has remained a leader in both lifestyle and caregiving sectors.

Teikyo University's Ekiden Team


The Teikyo University Ekiden team is recognized as an official highly ranked club founded in 1979. Under the guidance of coach Takayuki Nakano, the team comprises 60 dedicated members. Recently, the team has achieved notable success with a record of 27 consecutive participations in the Hakone Ekiden, securing a highest overall rank of 4th place. Additionally, they have participated in the All Japan University Ekiden 17 times over three years, with a top-ranked placement of 5th. The team aims for outstanding results in the upcoming competitions, keeping their streak alive as they prepare for the 102nd Hakone Ekiden as a seeded school.
