Alaska Airlines Brings Upgrade to Neighbor Island Travel

In a significant move aimed at enhancing air travel in Hawaii, Alaska Airlines, Inc. has announced the introduction of Boeing 737-800 aircraft for Hawaiian Airlines' Neighbor Island service. This decision follows the retirement of the existing Boeing 717 fleet, with the new 737-800s expected to significantly improve the flying experience for residents and visitors alike.

The transition to the 737-800s is poised to offer numerous advantages. Featuring modern, premium interiors, these aircraft will not only elevate comfort but also provide guests with fast, complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi on every flight. Each 737-800 will be equipped with double the number of First Class seats and an additional 30 seats in the Premium Class, enhancing upgrade opportunities for members of the Huaka'i and Atmos™ Rewards programs.
