Project Overview

The Next Generation Standard Logistics Center construction project is spearheaded by STOCKCREW in collaboration with major logistics real estate firm Prologis and several client companies as part of a consortium known as the “Logistics DX Promotion Cooperation Body.” This ambitious initiative culminated in the deployment of 110 Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and other automation equipment at Prologis Park Yachiyo 2 in Chiba Prefecture, resulting in a remarkable 92% reduction in waiting and loading times, alongside a 63% reduction in picking labor.

Summary of Demonstration Results

The demonstration period was set from February 1 to February 10, 2026, during which various operational benchmarks were collected, alongside crucial comparisons against previous labor hours in March and April 2025.

Key Achievements

1. Reduction in Wait and Loading Times: By automating the sorting process, wait times were slashed by an incredible 92%. The initiative also eliminated the special 7 PM shipping times, allowing for the completion of all orders by the 6 PM cutoff.

2. Minimized Workforce for Picking: With the integration of 110 AMRs, picking labor was reduced by 63%, allowing the workforce to shrink from 50-60 employees down to an average of just 21. During the demonstration period, the facility handled an average of 9,667 shipments per day through collaboration between robots and human workers.

3. Automation of Inspection and Packaging: The introduction of automated packaging machines has significantly enhanced efficiency, and progress continues toward reaching the target of 85% in operational improvements.

Consortium Synergy

Prologis played a crucial role by providing a facility designed for robot-friendly operations at Prologis Park Yachiyo 2. They undertook electrical upgrades and installed vertical conveyors essential for automating equipment. Meanwhile, STOCKCREW managed the integration of the automation systems and its proprietary cloud-based Warehouse Management System (WMS), collectively addressing the structural inefficiencies in EC logistics.

Future Expansion Plans

Building on the successful outcomes of this demonstration, STOCKCREW plans to pursue a three-step expansion strategy. The first goal is to triple the utilization rate of inspection and packaging equipment from 40% to over 80%, and to enhance processing capacity through new technological developments. This will be followed by a proposed expansion to the 5th and 6th floors of the facility based on discussions with Prologis, aiming for a processing capability of over 30,000 shipments per day. The ultimate vision is to roll out their cloud-based WMS nationwide, culminating in the creation of a next-generation logistics center covering 46,000 square meters by 2027.
