The First National Eco-Child Survey Forum
Excitement surrounds the upcoming
First National Eco-Child Survey Forum, proudly organized by the
Ministry of the Environment, scheduled for
November 1-2, 2025, at
Tokyo University's Hongo Campus. This event aims to showcase and celebrate the achievements in promoting children's health and environmental awareness.
Award Winners Announced!
The forum has unveiled its award winners in three creative categories:
calligraphy,
tanka poetry, and the
Eco-Child Survey Karuta (original cards). A heartfelt thank you goes to all the participants who submitted their works!

Calligraphy Exhibition
The outstanding calligraphy pieces will be displayed at the forum's calligraphy exhibition. A diverse array of works, including those on both half-sized and full sheets of paper, will be showcased, promising an enriching experience for visitors.

The judging panel includes esteemed members from the
Japan Calligraphy Art Institute and the

Tanka Poetry Exhibition
Similar to the calligraphy exhibition, the awarded tanka poems will also be displayed during the forum. We warmly welcome everyone to visit!

The judging committee is headed by
Nobukazu Sakai from the
Contemporary Poets Association, alongside panelists from the same organization as well as the Ministry of the Environment.
Eco-Child Survey Karuta
Among the awarded entries for the
Eco-Child Survey Karuta, the gold prize-winning piece will be included in the creation of the original karuta cards. Even those who did not secure the gold prize have been recognized with silver and bronze awards. These works will also be featured during the eco karuta exhibition at the forum.
A thrilling
karuta tournament will be held during the forum, inviting everyone to participate and enjoy this traditional game!

To view the awarded creations, attendees are encouraged to visit the
First National Eco-Child Survey Forum site to complete their free participation registration. Registration is essential and can be finalized until
October 31. Please present your registration at the reception on forum day (B1F of Itō International Research Center).

About the Eco-Child Survey
The survey, formally known as the
National Survey on Children's Health and Environment, began in
2011 as a government initiative by the
Ministry of the Environment. It encompasses approximately
100,000 parent-child pairs aimed at investigating how environmental chemicals affect children's health, ultimately creating a safe and nurturing environment for their growth.
