Introducing the POPUP Ramen Concept in Toyosu
The ramen concept known as "POPUP Ramen" has made its debut in Tokyo's vibrant Toyosu area, setting up its ninth venue at the Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu's food court. Notably, this marks the third store of POPUP Ramen in Tokyo, showcasing a unique culinary experience for ramen enthusiasts.
The first offering at this pop-up location is the "Junmugi Wantanmen," crafted under the guidance of Junmugi's chef, who meticulously creates dishes reflecting their celebrated culinary philosophy. From
April 21 to August 31, this reservation-only venue allows patrons to indulge in an exquisite ramen kaiseki course that stands out as an unparalleled dining experience in the city.
About Junmugi
Junmugi is far from an ordinary ramen shop. This exclusive establishment does not disclose its address and presents a fully予約制 (reservation-only) dining format. The restaurant uniquely merges the art of kaiseki – traditional Japanese multi-course dining – with ramen, allowing guests to savor various seasonal vegetables sourced from contracted farms, culminating in the ultimate ramen dish.
Junmugi has garnered significant media attention, with its chef, Jun Yajima, being recognized globally as the Ramen Queen after having trained at the renowned Men-dokoro Honda. Yajima's journey as a chef led him to establish his own popular ramen eatery, and he notably separated from his previous establishment in 2023. Junmugi offers a perfect blend of culinary innovation and tradition, with the closing dish often being delightful kakigori (shaved ice) that adds a refreshing finish to the meal.
