Experience the Future of Fireworks with STAR ISLAND 2026
Red Cliff, a prominent company specializing in drone shows, is set to take center stage at the upcoming future-oriented fireworks entertainment event,
STAR ISLAND 2026, scheduled for
May 23, 2026, at Odaiba Seaside Park, Tokyo. This exciting event, organized by the STAR ISLAND Executive Committee and produced by Avex Live Creative, will showcase a spectacular show featuring
800 drones that will enhance the experience through innovative performances and breathtaking visuals.
This is not the first time Red Cliff has been involved with STAR ISLAND; the company has been responsible for the drone shows at this event since
2024, consistently pushing the envelope in merging
fireworks and technology. This year, the show will reach an unprecedented scale, creating an immersive nighttime experience that integrates fireworks, music, lasers, and stunning fire performances.
A Unique Immersive Experience
STAR ISLAND isn’t just a fireworks show; it’s an evolving platform aimed at preserving Japan's traditional fireworks culture while addressing challenges like declining events and a lack of successors in the field. Launched by Avex in
2017, STAR ISLAND has successfully held
11 shows worldwide, including in Singapore and Saudi Arabia, attracting over
15 million attendees, gaining acclaim both domestically and internationally.
The theme for
2026 is
“Shine, Live in the Moment”, driven by a narrative that unfolds over
90 minutes. The show will feature
12,000 fireworks, synchronized performances from
800 drones, live music with immersive audio and laser presentations, and dynamic fire performances, all combining to create a cinematic experience that transports attendees into its story.
This year, the production will introduce a unique maritime screen on Tokyo Bay, live ensemble performances tied to the narrative, and fire performances on a floating stage, ensuring a multi-sensory entertainment extravaganza that stimulates sight, sound, and sensory perception like never before.
The Drone Show: A Story in the Night Sky
The centerpiece of Red Cliff’s contribution will be the
drone show, where
800 drones will light up the night sky in real-time synchronization with fireworks, lasers, and music. By crafting light motifs that resonate with the rhythms and melodies of the music, the show will captivate the audience, drawing them deeper into its narrative world. This seamless fusion of technology and entertainment promises an unforgettable experience, where everything from the air itself creates a narrative.
A Festival Day of Fun
Attendees will also enjoy a fully-fledged festival atmosphere throughout the day. The venue will transform into a vibrant space featuring food stalls and photo spots, encouraging guests to relish the festive atmosphere before the evening's spectacle begins. It’s designed to be a family-oriented city festival that allows loved ones to create cherished memories together.
