Walmart and Sam's Club: Continuing the Fight Hunger Campaign for 13 Years

Campaign Overview

For the 13th consecutive year, Walmart and Sam's Club have partnered with Feeding America to launch the 'Fight Hunger. Spark Change.' campaign. This initiative aims to address food insecurity across the United States by connecting communities with access to nutritious meals. From April 6 to May 3, 2026, all Walmart and Sam's Club locations will engage with customers to foster support for their neighbors facing hunger.

Community Impact

The Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign embodies the spirit of community collaboration. Together, Walmart, Sam's Club, and Feeding America have provided nearly $300 million and over 9 billion pounds of food to individuals and families in need over the past two decades. This partnership has made significant strides in ensuring that families have the means to secure healthy meals, addressing both hunger and the long-term health consequences that can arise from food insecurity.

With this year's campaign, participants can choose from three simple ways to help:
1. Purchase Participating Products: For each item purchased from selected suppliers at Walmart, a donation will be made that can provide at least one meal per product. At Sam's Club, each participating product translates to at least five meals donated to a local food bank.
2. In-Store Donations: Customers can make contributions at checkout, either in person or through Walmart's digital platforms.
3. Online Donations: Direct donations can also be made via the designated campaign site on Feeding America's website.

This campaign has a robust local focus, ensuring that the donations made are utilized within the respective communities where the funds were raised. This model has secured over 2.3 billion meals since 2014, showcasing the real impact of community-driven action against hunger.

The Power of Partnerships

"At the heart of this partnership is a shared vision that ending hunger in America is possible," said Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America. This sentiment resonates through the efforts of associates, suppliers, and customers who contribute to help bridge the food access gap for millions of Americans.

Julie Gehrki, Walmart's senior vice president of philanthropy, emphasized that small actions can lead to significant change. Every purchase and donation helps to unlock the resources needed to support families in overcoming food insecurity.
