Pal System Urges Immediate Cessation of All Forms of Violence

Pal System's Message on 80th Anniversary of Hiroshima

On August 15, 2025, marking 80 years since the end of World War II, Pal System Cooperative Association issued a message calling for the immediate cessation of all forms of violence. In remembrance of the victims of war, the Cooperative stands firm in its commitment to uphold a society based on peace and cooperation.

A Call for Peace

Spanning an extensive history, the devastating repercussions of war have left indelible marks on countless lives. The brutality witnessed during the conflicts, especially the tragic bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, continues to serve as a grim reminder of the dangers of violence and aggression. Pal System acknowledges this historical cruelty and expresses condolences to all victims, while advocating for a culture of peace.

As a group committed to nurturing our members' well-being, Pal System believes in the importance of understanding the grievous realities of war. We remain dedicated to ensuring that peace and the learning of its value are paramount in our educational efforts.

The Tragic Legacy of War

The repercussions of conflict extend beyond borders. War has inflicted pain on numerous communities, particularly in Asia, where colonial rule and territorial invasions caused suffering and loss of life. Reflecting on these past atrocities, the Japanese populace, guided by its constitution, resolutely renounces any manifestation of violence and warfare.

The commitment to Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution represents a nationwide pledge for peaceful coexistence, where war is unequivocally rejected as a means to resolve disputes. This foundational belief must continue to be transmitted across generations to perpetuate a culture of peace and humanity.

The Need for Disarmament

Of particular concern is the existence of nuclear weapons, instruments of inhumanity that should be eradicated without delay. The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons has already seen approval from 73 nations, signaling a growing global consensus for disarmament. Recent recognition of the Japan Confederation of A-bomb Sufferers Organizations (Nihon Hibakusha Kyōgikai) by the Nobel Peace Prize committee further emphasizes this movement.

However, a dissonance persists as nations, including the United States, still cling to notions of 'peace through strength.' The justification of military actions remains contradictory when we recognize the inherent suffering that conflicts invariably produce.

A World Free from Violence

Contemporary society faces rising intolerance towards differing values and perspectives, fueled by selective information on social media platforms. Such divisiveness exacerbates inequality, environmental destruction, and inter-ethnic confrontations, leading to new conflicts that often impact the most innocent—our children.

Our commitment at Pal System is clear: we vow to work collectively and advocate for the cessation of all violence, ensuring that future generations inherit a world devoid of conflict. We aim to work alongside many voices to spread the essential message of peace.

In closing, Pal System invites everyone to join this vital cause, united in the belief that violence must end, embracing the hope for a future where conflicts have no place. Our pursuit of a peaceful world for our children is unwavering.
