Discover the 'Ikimonotachi' Group Exhibition at YUGEN Gallery FUKUOKA
YUGEN Gallery FUKUOKA, located in the vibrant Daimyo district of Fukuoka City, is set to host an enchanting group exhibition titled
'Ikimonotachi' from
August 1 to August 31, 2026. This exhibition brings together five talented artists, each with their distinctive materials and methods, to explore the sheer wonder and beauty of life.
The participating artists include:
Ado,
So Ikegami,
Tsukasa Kaneko,
Yukiko Kurano, and
Yoshie Kuroda. Each artist will present artworks that reflect their unique perspectives on various living beings — from wild animals and domesticated pets to plants and imaginative creatures.
Ado, known for her charming depictions of wildlife and cats using traditional washi paper and oil pastels, will showcase her latest creations. Meanwhile,
Tsukasa Kaneko adds a distinctive touch with his ceramics inspired by mushrooms, masterfully crafted using traditional Hagi pottery techniques.
Yoshie Kuroda adopts an innovative approach by transforming discarded clothing into whimsical creatures she calls
'Mokemokemono'. On the other hand,
So Ikegami captures the vitality of life through glassblowing, while
Yukiko Kurano brings the energy of flowers and plants to life with her oil and watercolor paintings. Together, these five artists celebrate the diverse manifestations of life, inviting audiences to reflect on the charm, strength, and fleeting nature of existence.
The exhibition not only focuses on traditional representations of life but also encourages viewers to ponder the profound and dynamic interactions we have with living beings in our daily lives—be it our beloved pets or the flowers we cultivate. Through the lens of creativity, audiences are encouraged to engage with the essence of life and consider the deeper connections that bind us to all living things.
Scheduled to coincide with summer vacation, the
'Ikimonotachi' exhibition promises to be an engaging experience for visitors of all ages. Anticipate a lively atmosphere filled with vibrant expressions of life, and do not miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this celebration of vitality and imagination.
