Craft Hotel Antenna: A New Experience in Koenji Shopping District Opening Soon

Discover a Unique Experience at Craft Hotel Antenna in Koenji

Craft Hotel Antenna, set to open its doors on May 29, 2026, offers a fresh take on accommodations in the heart of Tokyo’s vibrant Koenji shopping district. Managed by Glider Associates, this premium hotel features just two spacious, uniquely designed rooms, providing an intimate and personalized experience for guests.

A New Way to Stay

Located merely 5 minutes away from Koenji station, this hotel is embedded right in the bustling arcade of the Koenji Pal shopping area. Unlike conventional hotel stays, guests have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture by staying in a neighborhood filled with quirky shops, izakayas (Japanese pubs), thrift stores, and cafes.

The concept here is not just to provide a place to sleep, but to enable visitors to live like the locals. This allows guests to enjoy a richer travel experience that goes beyond the typical tourist attractions.

Spacious Rooms Perfect for Groups

The hotel comprises two expansive rooms, each measuring approximately 55 square meters. This design caters specifically to group travel and long-term stays. The third-floor room accommodates up to six guests, while the fourth-floor room can host up to eight, allowing a total occupancy of 14 individuals across both rooms.

Features include large bunk beds with queen and twin-size mattresses, ideal for families or groups seeking comfort during their travels. Notably, each room is equipped with kitchen facilities, laundry machines, bathtubs, and projectors, embracing an apartment-style setup that invites guests to settle in as if they were living in the area.

Promoting Local Consumption with the “Stay and Dine Separately” Model

Craft Hotel Antenna operates under a unique “Stay and Dine Separately” model, encouraging guests to explore local dining experiences. Instead of providing meals directly, the hotel looks to promote nearby dining options, and offers insights into local supermarket and liquor shop selections where visitors can source their ingredients. This initiative is particularly beneficial in enhancing the dining culture for international travelers visiting Japan, helping them truly savor the unique flavors of the area.

The hotel aims to boost local consumer spending and promote cultural exchanges by providing curated information on Koenji's food culture and nightlife, ensuring that guests have a well-rounded experience while staying.

Future Expansion and Vision

Craft Hotel Antenna represents the first project of a series aimed at addressing the shortage of tourism infrastructure in local areas. This innovative hotel model hopes to show how small businesses can sustainably impact local economies and tourist experiences. Glider Associates plans to leverage insights gained from the operations of this hotel to launch multiple locations and collaborate with local businesses.

A Word from the Business Leader

Hiroshi Hotei, the project leader responsible for the hotel's vision, highlights the essence of Koenji, stating: "This area has a rich culture that is distinctly its own. The experience we aim to create offers an 'extraordinary everyday' right outside the hotel door, where countless eateries, thrift shops, and boutiques leave a lasting impact on our guests. Our goal is to refine this hospitality model to facilitate sustainable tourism and contribute positively to the community over time."
