MyNavi DANCEALIVE 2026 KIDS CHUBU Report

On January 11, 2026, a thrilling competition took place at CLUB LOVER;Z in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. The MyNavi DANCEALIVE 2026 KIDS CHUBU CLIMAX, part of the largest solo dance battle series in the world, was an unforgettable event. Organized by Anomaly Inc., led by CEO Kantarou Kanda, this qualifier is crucial for young dancers as they aim to progress to the final competition scheduled for April 2026.

What is MyNavi DANCEALIVE?

Since its inception as DANCE@LIVE in 2005 in Japan, MyNavi DANCEALIVE has evolved into the largest one-on-one street dance battle globally. Dancers engage in a face-to-face battle, each performing spontaneous moves to music provided by a DJ. The DJ selects songs that are unknown to the dancers, and the winner is determined by the number of votes from judges—a straightforward yet thrilling format.

The competition comprises six categories, with dancing styles divided into five general categories: HOUSE, BREAKING, HIPHOP, ALL STYLES, and POPPING, collectively referred to as GENERAL. Additionally, there is a KIDS category for dancers in middle school and below, competing in ALL STYLES. The qualifiers take place across eight regions in Japan—Hokkaido, Tohoku, Hokuriku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Chugoku, and Kyushu—culminating in the final event in April each year.

Upcoming KIDS Events

The excitement continues as several qualifiers lead up to the finals, including:
  • - January 17, 2026: KIDS CHUGOKU CLIMAX
  • - January 18, 2026: KIDS HOKURIKU CLIMAX
  • - January 31, 2026: KIDS KANTO CLIMAX
  • - February 14, 2026: KIDS HOKKAIDO CLIMAX
  • - April 19, 2026: FINAL at Ryogoku Kokugikan

KIDS Category Details

To participate, dancers must be in middle school or younger at the time of the qualifiers. If they graduate before the finals in April, they may still compete. The format is a 1-on-1 battle within the ALL STYLES category, with no restrictions on dance genre or style. Points are awarded based on performance across the year, determining which dancers advance to the finals. The top two from each region, along with two wildcard entrants from the previous day’s Wildcard decision battle, will join the final competition—which features a thrilling tournament.

Wildcard Decision Battle

The Wildcard battle occurs the day before the finals, allowing the third-best dancers from each region to compete for the final spots. To qualify, they must reside in the respective region where they earned their points, emphasizing local talent.

Each region holds three qualifying rounds: two preliminary rounds and one climax event, showcasing a total of 24 qualifying events nationwide. This structure ensures that talented dancers from across all areas of Japan have a chance to shine without entry restrictions based on residency.

As the road to the finals unfolds, the incredible passion and talent of young dancers across Japan are truly inspiring. The MyNavi DANCEALIVE 2026 KIDS series not only showcases their skills but also fosters a sense of community and joy in the world of dance.
