Founded in 1970 by Yoko Hashimoto, the studio emerged during a time when synthetic dyes threatened traditional craftsmanship. By developing a unique wax-resist dyeing technique, Atelier Seiran redefined indigo dyeing, turning it into a contemporary art language that transcends the boundaries of craft.
