Abu Dhabi Investment Office Establishes 29 Strategic Partnerships for Autonomous Mobility

Abu Dhabi Sets the Stage for Autonomous Mobility

In a groundbreaking move for smart transportation, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has successfully secured 29 strategic partnerships aimed at fast-tracking the commercialization of autonomous mobility technologies. Announced during the inaugural Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week (ADAW) in November 2025, these partnerships are a pivotal step in establishing the emirate as a global leader in this transformative sector.

The agreements involve prominent players in the autonomous mobility field, including innovative companies such as K2, LODD Autonomous, Autologix, Sinaha, TractEasy, MLG, and Space42. This noteworthy collaboration enables Abu Dhabi to create a comprehensive framework encompassing regulatory and infrastructural support for autonomous vehicles, making it one of the first cities worldwide to offer an integrated multi-modal transport environment.

These partnerships cover a broad spectrum of sectors, ranging from e-commerce and healthcare to logistics and urban transport solutions. By collaborating with renowned partners like Integrated Transport Centre (AD Mobility), Talabat, Noon, and Aramex, the agreements aim to streamline the delivery of goods and healthcare services, leveraging proven autonomous solutions for both aerial and ground transportation.

Currently, various real-world operations utilizing autonomous technologies are up and running across the emirate. With the backing of SASC (Smart and Autonomous Systems Council), Abu Dhabi is reshaping how businesses and consumers conduct logistics, thus moving closer to a customer-centric logistics network. His Excellency Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO, highlighted the significance of these collaborations, pointing out that they represent a notable leap into a future where autonomous technologies re-define the standards of transportation and commerce.

The ambition behind these partnerships is further exemplified by the efforts of Sinaha Technology, a local firm operating in AI-driven automation and robotics. The company is revolutionizing logistics with innovative solutions like autonomous ground vehicles (AGVs) that work tirelessly towards reducing emissions and operational costs, and smart warehouses powered by AI and robotics.

Additionally, the advent of drone delivery pilots spearheaded by LODD in partnership with PureLab, EMX, Noon, and Aramex signifies the potential of unmanned aerial systems in efficient logistics management. These pilots aim to demonstrate the practical, operational, and environmental advantages of drone technology, which includes secure transport of medical supplies and scalable deliveries.

K2 is also making strides in advancing logistics services with collaborations that reflect a commitment to sustainability and efficiency. Their initiatives involve the use of AI-enabled electric vehicles and drones to facilitate deliveries, thus showcasing a modern approach to logistical challenges. Projects like autonomous drones delivering cargo between hubs illustrate the integration of innovation with sustainability.

Moreover, a partnership between Autologix, Emirates Post, and other stakeholders is set to test Level 4 autonomous cargo vehicles in urban logistics. These cutting-edge vehicles are crafted without traditional driver configurations, representing a safer and more efficient solution for freight transport. Such innovations embody Abu Dhabi's visionary drive towards comprehensive and sustainable autonomous logistics.

All of these efforts culminate in a robust framework that unifies infrastructure, regulatory measures, and innovative advancements within Abu Dhabi's mobility sector. The Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), established to guide the future of smart technologies in the region, plays a crucial role in refining and promoting regulations and policies that align with facilitating autonomous systems.

The ADAW serves as a premier platform promoting autonomous systems across varied transport modalities including land, sea, and air. It serves to connect leaders, innovators, and policymakers, fostering collaboration and accelerating the practical application of autonomous technologies in everyday life. The inauguration of significant events like the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit aims to further enhance dialogue and partnerships in this domain, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's role in the global landscape of intelligent mobility.

As we look to the future, the integration of autonomous technologies into everyday logistics and transportation paves the way toward not only operational efficiencies but also positions Abu Dhabi as a key player in driving the future economies powered by autonomy and smart technologies.
