Zoomlion Expands Its Footprint in Germany
On March 31, 2025, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd., a global leader in construction machinery, officially broke ground on Phase II of its factory project in Waldlaubersheim, Germany. This ambitious project, which involves an investment exceeding 50 million euros, is set to play a pivotal role in enhancing sustainable global development.
The factory, covering an area of 60,000 square meters, represents a significant upgrade and expansion of the facility previously acquired from WILBERT TowerCranes GmbH. Once completed, it will manufacture tower cranes, mobile cranes, and concrete machinery, contributing over 1,000 machines annually with an estimated production value of around $300 million.
With this new facility, Zoomlion aims to establish a central global hub in Europe, enhancing collaboration with local suppliers in both upstream and downstream sectors. This approach is expected to amplify economic prosperity in the region, benefiting local communities and fostering development in the construction industry.
A Commitment to Innovation and Growth
Since its inception, Zoomlion has prioritized integrating technology, products, capital, and industry with global markets. The company has designed a collaborative framework synthesizing research, production, supply chain, and customer service, benefiting all stakeholders involved. This structure is sharpened by the adoption of innovative thinking and the establishment of an international business ecosystem focused on seamless integration, digitalization, and localization.
Zoomlion has a history of strategic acquisitions, which have included renowned brands such as Powermole in the UK (2001), CIFA in Italy (2008), and m-tec in Germany (2013). With these acquisitions, the company has significantly expanded its reach, establishing production bases in Italy, Germany, India, Mexico, Belarus, Brazil, Turkey, and the USA.
Global Expansion Strategy
Embracing the vision of a connected "global village," Zoomlion has actively pursued expansion in international markets over the past years. The company has remarkably established 400 foreign offices with over 210 service and spare parts warehouses, ensuring that its products reach more than 170 countries and regions.
Zhan Chunxin, Chairman and CEO of Zoomlion, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders supporting the project, emphasizing the company’s commitment to promoting synergistic development with local industries and boosting economic growth in the area. The initiative aligns with Zoomlion's investment plan aimed at swiftly bringing the project to completion and accelerating its operational readiness.
