Highlights of the Fall 2025 Semester
The total student population at MBZUAI now exceeds 700, representing more than 47 nationalities. Undergraduate students hail from diverse countries such as Bulgaria, China, Egypt, Georgia, Greece, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, the UAE, and the United Kingdom. Master’s students come from further afield, including Canada, China, Egypt, France, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Serbia, and Vietnam.
Remarkably, 151 of the newly enrolled graduate students (approximately 27.5%) hold degrees from top 100 computer science universities globally, including prestigious institutions like Cornell University, Tsinghua University, University of Edinburgh, and the University of California, San Diego.
In anticipation of this landmark semester, MBZUAI has initiated an immersive orientation week designed to introduce newcomers to the university's culture of academic excellence, AI-driven innovation, and vibrant campus life. The program blends theoretical coursework with hands-on activities, mentorship, and cultural programming that reflects the rich heritage of the UAE and life in Abu Dhabi. Activities include a mini-orientation fair where partners offer resources focused on academic success, career development, and student engagement.
