Rob Haynie Receives 2024 Alan H. Buerger Leadership Award at LISA Conference

Rob Haynie Awarded 2024 Alan H. Buerger Leadership Award

The Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) has conferred the prestigious 2024 Alan H. Buerger Leadership Award to Rob Haynie, the Managing Director of Life Insurance Settlements, Inc. This recognition, part of LISA's 30th Annual Life Settlement Conference held in Miami on October 24, celebrates Haynie’s substantial contributions to the life settlement sector.

Haynie has dedicated over 31 years to the advancement of the life settlement industry, being a pivotal figure since the inception of the Viatical settlement market. His relentless advocacy for the integration of life settlements into comprehensive financial strategies has established him as a key promoter of the industry’s significance, advising various intermediaries regarding the vital nature of exploring settlement options while recognizing the inherent value of life insurance.

Commenting on Haynie's influence, John Dallas, LISA Board Chair and CEO of Berkshire Settlements, Inc., stated that Rob's pioneering leadership over the past 25 years has been instrumental in shaping and fortifying both the life settlement industry and the organization itself. Dallas emphasized that Haynie's reach and impact extend far beyond LISA, marking him a deserving recipient of this year’s award.

In his acceptance speech, Haynie expressed his gratitude and surprise at receiving the award, highlighting his respect for Alan H. Buerger, the award's namesake, for his invaluable contributions to the industry. He remarked, “I’ve spent a significant portion of my adult life in this field, and the Life Insurance Settlement Association has been integral to both my company’s success and the growth of our industry. I owe a lot to their ongoing support and efforts.”

Haynie’s commitment to LISA is evidenced through his repeated terms on the board and active participation in multiple events, committees, and initiatives aimed at promoting the organization’s goals. His efforts in steering significant initiatives, like the annual provider survey, aim to establish and elevate industry standards and practices.

He continued, “Our market’s awareness is crucial for sustained growth. There remains a vast audience outside the traditional financial service industry that we must educate about the benefits of life settlements. Our objective is to highlight how people can revitalize their life insurance policies, enabling them to benefit substantially while they are still living.”

The Alan H. Buerger Leadership Award honors leaders within the life settlement industry who have significantly demonstrated their commitment to the advancement of LISA and the broader marketplace. The award was renamed in 2022 to recognize Alan H. Buerger’s contributions, who co-founded Coventry and served as LISA’s former Chairman. Previously, he received the LISA Leadership Award in 2021.

The Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA), the largest organization representing stakeholders in the life settlement industry, is dedicated to promoting the integrity and growth of this sector. With a membership of over fifty companies across all 50 states, LISA is committed to upholding high standards of practice and educating both consumers and advisors about life settlements as a worthwhile alternative to allowing policies to lapse.
