ITTI's New Launch: A Touch of Luxury in Leather
Tokyo's leather brand, ITTI, has recently unveiled an exquisite new line named
edittion, which showcases luxury crafted from the highly sought-after
Porosus crocodile leather. This special collection will be officially available for purchase starting
July 22, 2026, at the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building on the first floor as well as on their official online store. To celebrate the launch, a special
POP UP event will run concurrently from July 22 to August 4 at the same venue, allowing customers to experience these exclusive pieces in person.
The Vision Behind ITTI
Established in 2017, ITTI aims to make
crocodile leather more accessible and casual to everyday consumers. The brand produces its leather goods locally, from sourcing materials to cutting and sewing, using the expertise of skilled artisans based in downtown Tokyo. Prior to this new line, the majority of their crocodile leather products were crafted from Nile crocodiles. Now, with 'edittion', they have shifted their focus to Porosus, a type of small crocodile known for its finer scales and limited availability.
The brand's commitment to quality shines through its design philosophy. Each piece created under
edittion is tailored to meet the desires of customers shopping at department stores, with fresh considerations in
material,
finish, and
color.
About Porosus Crocodile
Porosus crocodile leather is acclaimed for its distinctive patterns, which are notably smaller and more uniform compared to other types. Although referred to as 'small crocodile', it does not imply a smaller animal, rather it describes the fine texture characterized by uniformly small scales. The leather itself is marked by neat square patterns on the belly and rounded designs on the sides, making it the pinnacle of exotic leather materials. Furthermore, Porosus leather is regulated under the
CITES agreement, limiting its market circulation primarily to major international luxury houses, which contributes to its high desirability and value.
In developing the
edittion line, designer
Wataru Aoki has chosen not to take the conventional approach of selecting only the central, perfectly arranged sections of the leather but rather makes individual decisions on the patterns for each product. This hands-on technique ensures that every item in the collection is unique.

A Look at ITTI
ITTI is a Tokyo-based leather brand established in 2017, prioritizing the selection of traditional materials and restructuring them through a fashion lens. The brand eschews conventional categorizations, focusing instead on designing items that convey a minimalist aesthetic while maintaining impactful functionality. With a skilled team of craftsmen mostly in their thirties, ITTI collaborates with seasoned factories in Tokyo's downtown to create their bespoke items.
Designer Wataru Aoki, born in 1981 and an alumnus of Musashino Art University, aims to preserve both Japanese traditions and innovative design approaches through fashion, inspired by his grandfather, the renowned calligrapher Koji Aoki. After a decade in the bag manufacturing industry, Aoki launched ITTI, merging traditional craft with contemporary design.
ITTI's locations include
ICHI GALLERY in Tomigaya,
ITTI OSAKA in Minamisenba, and the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building.
