In a captivating display of artistry and cultural exchange, over 30 exquisite works of white porcelain from Dehua County, renowned for its craftsmanship, were recently showcased at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The exhibition highlighted striking pieces that blend a jade-like finish with authentic realism, symbolizing the essence of eastern beauty.

The event took place on February 24, 2026, as part of an international touring exhibition organized by Dehua County, strategically aimed at strengthening its cultural presence in Europe. Renowned as the birthplace of the iconic "Blanc de Chine" porcelain, Dehua's works are celebrated for their historical significance and craftsmanship, with exports reaching over 190 countries.

Among the guests at the Palais des Nations were UN officials, foreign diplomats, and cultural and business leaders from both China and Switzerland. The exhibition presented not only decorative bottles and sculptures but also initiated meaningful dialogues on global governance and business development, which occurred alongside a symposium focusing on emerging opportunities for the porcelain industry from Dehua.

At the symposium, approximately 50 representatives from Chinese and Swiss delegations engaged in enriching discussions, revealing insights into cross-cultural collaborations and the potential for expanding Dehua's reach in global markets. Fang Junqin, the Party Chief of Dehua County, emphasized that the exhibition would help present "Blanc de Chine" to a much wider audience globally, a name that has resonated through centuries since its introduction to Europe.

Fang noted, "Through enhanced branding initiatives and cultural internationalization, Dehua is now deeper engaged in the global value chain," indicating that the county is committed to growing its influence and market share in Europe.

As part of their strategic planning, the local porcelain industry's current annual output value, estimated at 76 billion yuan, is set to increase to 100 billion yuan by 2027. This ambitious five-year plan aims to elevate the quality and value of Dehua porcelain production significantly.

A vital milestone in promoting its unique brand, the newly inaugurated Swiss promotional center “Blanc de Chine • Porcelain from Dehua” stands testament to Dehua's dedication to exploring and expanding into the European market. This event marks a substantial step in their efforts to integrate further into the global art and cultural scene, providing participants and visitors with a glimpse into the rich past and promising future of Chinese porcelain artistry.
