Himeji City Adopts giftee for Business

Himeji City in Hyogo Prefecture has recently adopted the innovative program "giftee for Business" offered by Giftee Inc., a company based in Shinagawa, Tokyo. This new initiative will serve as a foundation for a point program named "giftee Point Base," designed specifically to enhance the city's educational platform project, which began on July 1, 2025. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time that a municipality has incorporated giftee Point Base into its programs.

Giftee, which specializes in digital gift solutions, aims to provide essential services to both businesses and municipalities through its digital gift system. Recently, the demand for digital gifts has surged due to their convenience, especially for municipal resident support initiatives such as childbirth and child-rearing assistance. With several local governments already utilizing Giftee’s solutions, the adoption by Himeji City highlights the growing importance of digital gifting in community engagement and support.

The giftee Point Base program enables a seamless experience from point issuance and management to digital gift exchanges. By implementing this one-stop solution, Himeji City aims to streamline the process for both businesses and policymakers, ensuring that they can set up point systems with minimal development costs and time. This efficiency is particularly beneficial for municipal projects aiming to stimulate community participation through rewards for activities like volunteering and health improvement.

Himeji has been active in promoting initiatives that encourage residents to engage in activities for health, volunteer work, and support for families. These initiatives all fall under the umbrella of the "Himeji Points" program, where residents can earn points that can be redeemed for various rewards, including specially customized gift boxes and digital payment options.

The city is also pioneering the use of a metaverse-based learning environment through the "Himeji City Learning Platform," which will kick off on January 27, 2025. This initiative aims to improve foundational academic skills among students while providing equal educational opportunities, particularly for those struggling to attend school. Students in Himeji will access this platform through digital devices provided by their schools and will be able to utilize various online resources, including instructional videos and digital drills.

During this program, students' engagement with the educational content on the platform will be incentivized through the allocation of Himeji Points, which are earned based on their learning activities. The school system’s online learning service, "Study Sapuri,” is integrated into this platform to facilitate the smooth awarding of points.

Benefiting from the combination of the giftee Point Base and the city’s learning platform, students will be able to acquire Himeji Points through a straightforward authentication process. Parents will be required to download specific applications that facilitate identification and verification, ensuring a secure environment for children when receiving and exchanging points for rewards.

Up to 3,000 points can be earned annually per child, and these points can be exchanged for a variety of digital gifts from local stores, restaurants, and online retailers. Importantly, the management and redemption of points is under parental oversight, making the entire process not only efficient but also safe for families.

Looking ahead, Giftee plans to continue expanding its offerings to municipalities and enhance community support through its digital gift solutions. Developing robust products, tools, and marketing strategies will enable Giftee to address the diverse gifting needs across both public and private sectors.

As Himeji City embarks on this exciting program, the successful integration of digital gifts through the giftee Point Base marks a significant step in fostering educational engagement and community-supported initiatives, setting an example for other municipalities to follow.
